John F. Fanning, O.D.

Dr. Fanning has served the northwest Columbus community for over 30 years, founding Muirfield Eye Care Center in 1989. He completed his training at Tennessee's Southern College of Optometry where he was an honors graduate and named to Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities. Dr. Fanning enjoys a close association with most of the finest medical eye specialists in central Ohio. His areas of interest include adult and pediatric vision dysfunction and ocular disease. He is presently engaged in researching the relationship between spatial disorientation and instrument flight conditions of the pilot and ocular cause and effect. He is an instrument rated pilot and has been flying for over 30 years.
Dr. Fanning is a longstanding member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association and various aviation organizations. He and his wife, Linda, are active in the community and are the parents of 3 daughters. They enjoy spending time with family and friends. |
KAYLA A. hitchins (THIEMAN), O.D.

Dr. Hitchins (Thieman) is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She joined Muirfield Eye Care Center in the spring of 2022. Previously she practiced at a large medical and surgical practice in Northwest Ohio. She is a great addition to the practice, bringing with her years of experience treating ocular diseases and injuries. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and is an InfantSee provider.
Dr. Hitchins is originally from the Indian Lake Ohio area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends while also attempting to improve her golf game. |
